The Great Start Readiness Program is offered for free or at a low cost to families in Michigan. The child must turn four, but not yet five, by September 1st of the current school year. GSRP is funded by the State of Michigan and is intended to increase children’s kindergarten readiness skills.
The program runs Monday through Thursday, September through May. Children attend GSRP full days, from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.
The program includes breakfast, lunch and snack daily.
Transportation is provided by Meridian Public Schools for children who live within district lines.
The focus of GSRP is on school readiness skills. This includes letter recognition, number recognition, printing skills, and listening and following directions. Parent participation is strongly encouraged.
Meridian Public Schools is a member of the Regional Preschool Partnership. This partnership is a voluntary collaboration of agencies working to provide quality preschool services throughout our four county service area.

This program is being offered for children who are three, but not yet four by September 1st of the current school year. Three Year Old Preschool runs Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. The school year runs mid-September through mid-May.
The cost is $600.00 per month for 8 months for the full day session, and includes breakfast and lunch for the student. Payments are due on the 15th of each month beginning in September. A late fee of $25 is charged on the 20th of each month. Payment must be made by the 25th of each month or the child will not be allowed to return to preschool.
